Hon. Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba had a telephone conversation with her Israeli counterpart His Excellency Mr. Gideon Sa'ar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel this evening.
During the telephone call, Hon. Foreign Minister requested for optimum support and cooperation from the Israeli government for the release of Mr. Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student taken hostage by Hamas during 07 October 2023 attack on Israel.
The Honourable Minister also expressed optimism for the on-going negotiations to culminate in a positive note leading to a much awaited truce.
His Excellency the Foreign Minister of Israel, Mr. Sa’ar underscored that the efforts in regard to the release of Mr. Joshi has been continuing. He reiterated the commitment of the Government of Israel that every possible attempt is being made for the release of Nepali student, Mr. Joshi.
The conversation also dwelt upon the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister is also planning to reach out to her counterparts in the USA, Qatar and Egypt in connection with the concern of the Government of Nepal regarding the safe release and repatriation of Mr. Joshi.
